How to Set Up and Use EZVIZ Cameras

EZVIZ offers affordable and reliable security cameras and NVRs. This guide will walk you through installation, app setup, remote access, and troubleshooting, so your cameras are online and secure.

Tip: Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready before starting. Most EZVIZ devices only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

What you’ll need

  • An EZVIZ camera (Wi-Fi or PoE model) or EZVIZ NVR.
  • EZVIZ mobile app (iOS or Android).
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with internet (or Ethernet cable for wired models).
  • Optional: microSD card for local recording.

Step 1 — Mounting the camera

Use the included bracket and screws to mount your camera securely. Point the lens toward the area you want to monitor, and avoid direct sunlight or strong reflections.

Step 2 — Powering up

Plug in the camera using the included power adapter (for Wi-Fi models) or connect via PoE (for wired models). Wait for the LED to flash blue or red, indicating it’s ready for pairing.

Step 3 — Pairing with EZVIZ App

  1. Download the EZVIZ app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create an account or log in with your EZVIZ credentials.
  3. Tap the + button and scan the QR code on your camera or packaging.
  4. Follow the wizard: select Wi-Fi, enter your password, and wait for pairing to complete.
Note: If pairing fails, reset the camera by holding the reset button for 10 seconds, then try again.

Step 4 — Remote access & notifications

Once added, your camera will appear in the EZVIZ app. From here you can:

  • Watch live video from anywhere.
  • Enable motion detection alerts.
  • Review recordings stored on microSD or EZVIZ CloudPlay.
  • Share camera access with family members.

Optional: Adding to EZVIZ NVR

If you have an EZVIZ NVR, connect your camera via LAN cable or Wi-Fi and use the NVR’s setup wizard to auto-discover and add cameras. This allows 24/7 recording to a hard drive and multiple camera management.

Troubleshooting

Camera won’t connect to Wi-Fi
  • Ensure your router is broadcasting 2.4 GHz (not only 5 GHz).
  • Move the camera closer to the router for setup.
  • Double-check your Wi-Fi password.
No video playback
  • Insert a microSD card and format it in the app.
  • Alternatively, enable EZVIZ CloudPlay subscription for cloud storage.
App not showing notifications
  • Allow push notifications in your phone’s settings.
  • Ensure motion detection is enabled in the camera settings.
